Every time I come in to the gardener orthopedics, everyone from the reception area all the way through the building physical therapy, especially are so polite so well, mannered and it makes you feel comfortable. I get to ask a lot of questions to any of them and they always have a great answer and they’re very knowledgeable in Physical.Therapy. They also are very friendly and make you laugh and they just seem to all get along with each other and have a good time so I really enjoy going to physical therapy. The dry needle with Alex so much, helped me and I hope it continues along with cortisol shots and the physical therapy. It really makes you feel better knowing that the rest of your life does not have to be all about the pain every day it’s pain management and how to deal with it and how to be disciplined and to keep enjoying life and keeping busy, especially because the only cure for arthritis is just to keep busy keep going and enjoy your life as best as you can!

I’ve been seeing Dr. Kini for a few years now for back and shoulder pain. She is very thorough in diagnosing and treating your symptoms. She treats the cause of my pain instead of just masking the symptoms. I was just there today and this is a great example. I indicated that the pain was across my lower back and when she looked she told me that I have shingles. So if it weren’t for her, I would have gone undiagnosed. I’m so grateful for the care I receive and recommend Dr. Kini if you have any kind of chronic pain.

Dr. Gardner, Dr. Dupay are excellent surgeons and I personally had the best results possible.

Both knee replacements were extremely successful. My reverse shoulder replacement was a game changer.

After a traumatic fall, I broke (shattered) my left hip. This happened just before Christmas, so I was worried about who would be performing my surgery since so many surgeons were on vacation. I cannot express how grateful I am for Dr. Patel!! Dr. Patel took the time to listen to all of my concerns and explained the procedure to me and the best course of action in a way that I could easily understand. I highly recommend Dr. Patel and his team should you need a caring, highly experienced surgeon!

Knee implant removal and new device (hinge ) implant- Dr Madhish Patel. Subsequent physical therapy- Gardner Ortho Physical Therapy Dept.

initial surgery (October 2024) involved removal of existing implant which had been compromised by strep infection. Dr Patel coordinated care with Florida ID Dr Figueroa to eliminate the causal bacteria and to prepare me for later implant. At the end of December, Dr Patel implanted the new device, arranged home care and therapy and eventual long term therapy at Gardner Ortho in their facility.

Richard. Nick, Michelle and Marissa participated in directed my PT sessions, with Marissa as the primary provider. Marissa was very consistent in her care and efforts to identify areas that needed strengthening. Appointments were always honored with on time starts and finishes. Meaningful exercises were identified for in office visits and “homework”. Over the three months of visits, I was able to make regular progress from my surgery and have regained meaningful and significant recovery.

I would gladly recommend Dr Patel and the PT Department at Gardner Orthopedic.

All of the workers I saw while there to have a hip injection were spectacular. So professional & caring. Plus I arrived 2 hours early, by mistake. They fit me in so I didn’t have to come back. You should be proud to have these four employees as a part of Gardner Orthopedics.

Dr. Martinez treated me for a broken wrist. I am now healed and without surgery! I found his treatment to be less invasive than I expected, his decisions to be in my best interest and the results perfect.

TLDR: I had an absolutely great experience with Gardner Orthopedics and Dr. Patel. I highly recommend both of them. My partial knee replacement has made a huge difference in my life and activity. So grateful!

Full Story: On 4 December 2024 Dr. Patel performed a partial replacement of my left knee; on 4 March 2025 I had my final post op follow up with him. I had regained full mobility and range of motion, and am pain free after more than two years of struggling with pain and lack of mobility.

Gardner Orthopedics was my “second opinion” after a year of less-than-helpful, and possibly damaging treatment from another physician. I had been told repeatedly “you just have tendonitis, do your physical therapy” while the pain grew and my mobility became more and more restricted. I had to quit my daily exercise, could not climb stairs, and even driving my boat for more than an hour was almost unbearable. I was told that “if I didn’t like the treatment maybe I should get a second opinion”…so I did.

From the start my experience with Gardner and Dr. Patel was very different. At the first appointment I had a series of x-rays taken and Dr Patel patiently explained what he saw in the x-ray, how damaged my knee was, what the range of treatment options was, what was entailed with each option, and the likelihood of success. We discussed my preferences and agreed that I would start with PRP (platelet rich plasma) injection as a first, non-surgical treatment; he explained that given the level of damage to my knee the treatment had a 50/50 chance of being successful and what the recovery timeline would be. It was scheduled for the next week and was really painless, until the healing started. I had moderate discomfort and after 6 weeks I had some improvement in pain, but still had very limited mobility and range of motion.

At that point we began discussion of the surgical option. Dr. Patel described the surgery in detail, what the recovery would be like, the potential pain during recovery, and the (very likely) successful outcome. I have to admit I was apprehensive, and delayed for a while, and then further delayed until after Thanksgiving and my 70th birthday (party). The team at Riverwalk Surgery Center was very efficient and helpful, as was the actual surgery with Dr. Patel; in, out, and home in less than 5 hours.

To be honest, the first 3-4 days were pretty painful and the physical therapy was hard. After that I saw improvement every day, stopped using a walker after 3 days, and with a very disciplined therapy routine had a rapid recovery. After 5 weeks I walked 5 miles with my wife, and a week later spent 8 hours on my boat with no significant discomfort. Today I have full mobility and have returned to my exercise and boating activities. I have full confidence in my knee and look forward to an active and pain-free life going forward.

I am so grateful to Dr. Patel and the team at Gardner Orthopedics, the team at Riverwalk Surgery Center, and Vance Root at Lee Health Outpatient Rehabilitation at Riverwalk. It has been a life changing experience. Like so many others “I just wish I had done it sooner”.

After 2+ years of severe pain post knee replacement with a different surgeon who was no longer able to help me, I decided to get a second opinion and I’m so happy I did! Dr. Gardner was able to figure out the problem and referred me to his revision specialist, Dr. Patel. Dr. Patel did a full revision 4 months ago and I couldn’t be happier with the results! Dr. Gardner and Dr. Patel truly changed my life! I can’t thank them enough.

Doctor Patel replaced my right hip after the first replacement by another doctor did not take. Today am pain free and on the road to recovery. Doctor Patel is very knowledgeable, and personable. But the main thing I believe is that he is competent and professional. I suffered for over three years before the surgery. Can’t thank him enough.
