Interventional pain management

Interventional pain management diagnoses and treats pain with minimally invasive options that maximize pain relief and minimize the use of oral medications.

Gardner Orthopedics offers many pain-free, modern techniques that can accommodate every patient. Interventional therapies are commonly used for acute and chronic pain conditions as part of a comprehensive treatment program. When physical therapy and oral medications no longer manage a patient’s pain efficiently, an injection, fusion, or other minimally invasive procedure may help.

Less Pain, More Possibilities

Many interventional pain procedures are available on an outpatient basis. Some minor interventional procedures can be performed in an office setting, while other advanced procedures require special training and an ambulatory surgery center.

These types of procedures are minimally invasive which implies they are safe, quick, and allow the patient to return to normal activities by the next day. Some benefits of outpatient procedures in an ambulatory surgery center include:

  • All procedures involve a small incision which results in less risk for infection and blood loss.
  • Most procedures that we offer are either reversible or include a trial period. Typical traditional back surgeries or joint replacements can leave permanent damage with little relief to the precise area of pain.
  • Most procedures are more cost-effective than traditional surgeries.
  • Minimally invasive procedures have a short recovery period with substantial pain relief.
